Jessica Hall is a third generation artist who grew up in the Boston Area. Her skills as an artist surfaced at an early age and she was honored with the prestigious Boston Globe Art Award as a high school student. Although Jessica is accomplished in various media, Pastel is her primary medium of choice. She loves that Pastel is pure pigment and this purity provides a vibrancy and vitality unrivaled by other media, along with an uncoupled permanent nature to her fine work. She studied horticulture in College and her interest in this subject has provided the inspiration for numerous florals and landscapes. Her background as a Horticulturist, coupled with a strong sense of design, and ability to capture the nuances of color and light occurring in the natural world, has combined to produce several award winning pastels. Her awards include: · 2010 FIRST PLACE in the Summerville Artist Guild Judged Show · 2008 FIRST PLACE in the Summerville Artist Guild Judged Show · 2007 SECOND PLACE in the Old Santee Canal Park Fine Art Show · 2007 HONORABLE MENTION in the Summerville Artist Guild Judged Show · 2007 HONORABLE MENTION in the North Charleston Fine Arts exhibition · 2007 HONORABLE MENTION in the Coastal Carolina Fair Senior Art Show · 2006 THIRD PLACE in the North Charleston Fine Arts exhibition · 2005 HONORABLE MENTION in the Summerville Artist Guild Judged Show · 2005 EXHIBITION AWARD in the Pastel Society of North Florida Exhibition · 2004 SECOND PLACE in the Old Santee Canal Park Fine Art Show · 2004 FIRST PLACE IN The Flowertown Festival Art contest
